The Critical view of safety during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The Triangle of Calot or what I prefer to refer to it as the Cystohepatic space and cystohepatic mesentery , as there is a mesentery formed of three layers , anterior and posterior visceral peritoneal layers
investing the middle fatty layer. This mesentery has to be dissected to identify the cystic duct and cystic artery , after dissection we can see a window or empty space in which we can see the cystic artery . By doing this dissection the Critical view of Safety has been achieved and Safe cholecystectomy is done.
