ERCP for a case with Forgotten plastic biliary stent. The stent has been placed in another centre more than one year earlier and the Patient presented with obstructive jaundice and ascending cholangitis, after the stent has been removed, Extraction of large CBD was done. We can see in these short videos some changes in the papilla from longstanding plastic stenting.
The key message is that Patients with plastic stenting especially for CBD stones should be instructed to be followed for definitive treatment and for Extraction of the plastic stent within a period of 6 months to avoid the Forgotten longstanding plastic stenting with its potential complications and its effects on the papilla and the CBD.
